I have always believed in the efficiency and cleanliness of central vac systems. Nearly 30 years ago we had our first one installed with the old-style hanging hose, which was always the worst part of vacuuming! When designing and building our next home, we researched and consequently installed the Hide-A-Hose system. I am so happy with how simple and easy it is to use this hose! This is the most useful thing you could have for your home! My wife loves it and she really likes the fact that I actually clean up after myself right then and not later. It is extremely easy and convenient to use. When our neighbors, friends and family see it they all want one! They are always amazed at how well the vacuum works and also how quick it is to use and put away. The Hide-A-Hose system with retractable hose is the only central vac system worth owning. I'd NEVER go back to the traditional one. The retractable hose really makes it easier to clean up the 'spontaneous' messes to keep our home looking nicer.
With the traditional system, I could never get motivated to go dig the hose out of the closet. With the Hide-A-Hose system, I just pull it out of the wall, clean up the mess, then hold my hand over the end of the hose and watch it disappear back into the wall. It is awesome! You are missing out if you don't have this system in your house. By the way, it is VERY affordable. AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Before I saw the Hide-A-Hose system I wasn't sure I was going to get a central vacuum system for my new house. I was tired of lugging a bulky hose from inlet to inlet, up and down the steps, and especially shoving it in a closet when I was done, but I knew a portable vacuum was even worse. I am a HUGE fan of Hide-A-Hose. We retired and moved from Wisconsin to Tennessee in 2021 where we owned land on a bluff overlooking a portion of the Little Tennessee River with the Great Smoky Mountains as the backdrop. We’d been assembling a list of “wants” for our new home that we were custom building for a few years. A central vacuum system was one of them. But we knew nothing of Hide-A-Hose until our general contractor connected us with a central vacuum installation person. We didn’t have a central vacuum system in Wisconsin and while there are obvious benefits, the thought of wrestling with all that hose was daunting. When the vacuuming is done, it’s a pleasure putting the system to bed. It’s a wonder it took this long for someone to come up with the system. Since I do virtually all the vacuuming, I’m most appreciative of the Hide-A-Hose system.
